Information about Therapy
Phone Consultation:
Our initial contact will be a brief telephone consultation. This will help me understand what you would like to address in therapy. It will also give you the opportunity to ask me any questions you'd like about my experience or how I work. The phone consultation is free of charge.
Therapy Sessions:
Our initial session will be conducted in my office during which we will discuss the issues that are bringing you to therapy, your personal history, goals for therapy and how therapy works. This is also an opportunity for you to decide whether or not you feel comfortable talking to me and for me to determine whether or not my training and experience make me an appropriate therapist for you. If either one of us feels this is not the right fit, I will give you referrals in order to help you find another therapist. The initial session usually lasts between 1-2 hours and then all therapy sessions following are 50 minutes.
Cancellations:
The appointment time we agree upon is held specifically for you each week. I require 24-hour notice for cancellation. If you cancel in less than 24-hours, you will be charged my full fee.
Fees:
My current fee is $150 per session and payment is due at the time of service. I accept payment in the form of cash or checks. I do offer limited sliding scale appointments based on income and ability to pay. If you need a reduced fee, I encourage you to let me know. If I cannot accommodate your financial situation, I will try my best to assist you in finding appropriate referrals.
Insurance Reimbursement:
I do not accept insurance. However, many insurance plans will reimburse you for therapy services; therefore, you should contact your insurance company prior to the first appointment with me to check your benefits. Payment is due at the time therapy services are rendered. I will be happy to provide you with a summary of services that you may submit to your insurance company for reimbursement. Any reimbursement from your insurance company will be made directly to you.
